Z06s had thinner windshields for weight savings, had less back pressure for the exhaust system, the camshaft had added lift and was the highest lift ever for a production small block Chevrolet, valve springs were also addressed. Even the intake and exhaust valves were redesigned for less weight that were actually hollow and filled with a liquid alloy. The list goes on all contributing to an additional 20 horsepower, 15 additional lb-ft of torque and an angry exhaust note. The Z06 was only available in a 6 speed manual and only offered in 5 colors.
